we have a great

history

Around 1885, “San Pedro de Ojitos” (located at the beginning of the Sierra Madre Occidental and Geronimo territory) Apache attacks were common when it belonged to its then owner, an English aristocrat named Lord Beresford and his couple “Lady Flo” (a mulatto woman from El Paso, Texas.).

This was a very scandalous romance at the time, and highly criticized by society -not just for being interracial- but also for being illegal in Texas, therefore they ended up making the decision to move to Chihuahua.
When Lord Beresford dies, Florida (“Lady Flo”) returned to live to El Paso, until her death and always wishing to return to the ranch.
After Florida’s death, San Pedro de Ojitos -the main vessel of all the lands- (including Santa Anita) was sold to another English aristocrat named Lord Urmston, before passing into the hands of its current owners.
