ABOUT US
Located in northern Mexico and in the south of New Mexico, United States and on the border between Sonora and Chihuahua. Santa Anita is a ranch with a great livestock and agricultural history developed through several generations and one of the largest ranches in the State of Chihuahua. Rancho Santa Anita is recognized as one of the best producers of Angus Cattle and one of the pioneers in the “Guest Ranch” concept in the North of the country.
We are located inside the great Janos Biosphere Reserve, where you will find great biodiversity due to being transition between the desert and our beautiful Sierra Madre Occidental. Plains and mountains are the landscape that this Biosphere Reserve offers.
Our properties are home to an abundance of wildlife, such as wild horses, golden eagles, black bears, prairie dogs, desert bighorn sheep, White-tailed deer, among other species.
Janos shelters the only wild bison herd left in Mexico. The Golden Eagle is an endemic animal in our ecosystem, which is also the setting where grassland birds winter and the Thick- billed parrot nests (also, an endemic animal in the Janos Biosphere Reserve) and which in season, expeditions are organized to take pictures and learn about its habitat.
